What’s Actually in the Box

No manual, no assembly, no surprises. A short list of what arrives with a figure and what deliberately doesn't.

A few people have asked what comes with a figure, which usually means they’re expecting assembly. There isn’t any. Here’s the full list, and it’s short.

In the carton

The figure, wrapped and foam-supported, in a double-wall carton. That’s the box. It arrives assembled and upright, and it does not come in pieces that you bolt together, because a joint at this scale would be a weak point and a visible one.

Felt pads for the base are included, and we’d rather you fit them than not. They stop the hollow thud when the piece is shifted on a hard floor and they stop the base ring from scuffing.

Not included

A plinth. Our figures stand on their own base and don’t need one, unless you want the extra height for a specific room, in which case any stable flat surface works. A plinth is a taste decision and it’s better made by you.

A wall anchor, because these are freestanding and not designed to be fixed. If you have small children or a very active dog, that’s a placement question rather than a hardware one, and the honest answer is to put the figure somewhere it can’t be reached.

A certificate with a number on it. We’ve considered it more than once and haven’t done it, mostly because we’d rather not create a paper market for something we intend to keep making.

What to do first

Unpack where it’s going to stand, if you can manage it. Check the surface in good light before you sign for the delivery, and keep the carton and foam until you’re sure, because if anything needs to come back to us it needs to travel in the original packing. Flattened cartons are much easier to store than assembled ones, and a piece of tape down the seam keeps it together.

Then fit the pads, step back about three metres, and look at it. That’s the distance it was designed for.

Characters with a narrow base and a raised prop need the most care unpacking. Maple Leaf Courier Panda has both.
